Pond Rebuild With Upgraded Filtration System

Project Details:

The homeowners inherited a water garden when they purchased the home. With multiple leaks in the feature and rocks falling down everywhere, the homeowners were eager to see the water garden exceed its former glory. We demolished the outdated system and created a new welcoming oasis. We installed a custom designed wetland filter and reservoir, added a pondless river garden, expanded the waterfalls, and added a patio.

Front Yard Water Garden

The water garden holds approximately 56,000 gallons of water. The waterfalls have about a 15′ drop. The overall size is 20′ x 40′ with a huge underground reservoir.

Location

Cordova, TN

Client's Vision and Plan:

The old water garden was situated right in front of the house and was leaking water in multiple spots. Their leaks led to stagnant water and rocks falling into the koi pond. It needed to be rebuilt. They wanted guests to be greeted with a beautiful water feature as they drove down the driveway and the homeowners wanted to see and enjoy the fish. The sites and sounds of water transformed their front yard into a water oasis.

How Memphis Water Gardens Helped The Client:

We created a 14′ x 14′ x 10′ underground reservoir hosting half a dozen adjustable pumps that connected to a wetland filter. The filtration system meant clean, clear water year-round. This also provided the natural sites and sounds of a water garden with waterfalls without unsightly equipment. We dug out the hillside and added stone and crushed limestone to give a natural, beautiful sitting area.
